Breast Cancer Awareness Game
On Friday October 4th we had a home football game against Santa Ynez. The theme of this game was to wear pink for breast cancer awareness or wear western themed clothing. The stadium was filled with pink, covered head to toe!
In 1985 breast cancer awareness was made in the month of October. This was when the first organized movement for the dangers of breast cancer was started.
What does the pink ribbon symbolize? The pink ribbon was created in 1991 and symbolizes hope and community for many who have been impacted by breast cancer.
This month means a lot to our community and the students here at AHS. Our school took the time to create posters and make everyone feel comfortable when celebrating this month. Students, staff, families and even the players dressed for this occasion.
