You can get a scoop of Tim Burton’s history with the multimedia research based timeline I created below. Feel free to click the images on the timeline to see them full-sized.
Born on August 25, 1958, Tim Burton’s early childhood life strived with the purpose of drawing and film making, from the inspiration of gothic horror movies and Vincent Price, Tim flourished in ambition to bring his art style to life. In the earlier years of his career, he was a student enrolled into California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) by 1977. He found an internship at Disney in 1980, but he found issues with Disney’s policies and measures in regards to how animation looked and was a creative visionary. He was outcast all of his life, but found friendships along the way, such as Henry Sellick, CalArts students that had gone to the same classes as Tim Burton, including Rick Heinrichs. Pee-Wee actor Paul Rubens caught attention to Tim Burton’s filmmaking style and asked him to direct Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure in 1985. In the same year, Tim Burton reached out to Oingo Boingo founder and lead singer Danny Elfman to compose a soundtrack for the movie. Danny Elfman would then appear in countless films as composer such as Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas and more. Tim Burton is very well-known to recast certain actors in multiple of his movies, most notably Johnny Depp and Helena Bontham Carter.
