This year’s Powderpuff game was a thrilling match-up, resulting in a well-earned victory for the seniors, who took the game with a final score of 20-7.
The action started early with an incredible 65-yard run by junior Meli Tonga, which sent waves of excitement through the stands and set an intense tone for the game. Right from the kickoff, the juniors showed they were determined to give it their all, demonstrating speed, agility, and a fierce will to compete.
Junior quarterback Taylor Aupperle displayed remarkable skill with a series of strong throws and agile runs that kept the senior defense on their toes. Hailey Talley, Clara Miranda contributed with reliable catches, accurate passes, and runs that helped the juniors move steadily down the field. With Catherine Olmstead being the main kicker for the team, providing amazing field goals and punts for the Juniors.
But the senior defense proved to be a force to be reckoned with, blocking several of the juniors’ attempts to score and stepping in with some well-timed interceptions that kept the juniors from fully capitalizing on their momentum. Both teams’ defensive players made every yard hard to gain, showcasing their training and teamwork in every tackle and block.
On the senior side, Audrey Stokes and Devyn Dutra were powerhouse players who made a huge impact throughout the game. Audrey took charge of nearly every field goal and punt, confidently stepping in to handle the pressure and kick for valuable field position. She attempted a memorable 42-yard field goal that came inches from scoring, bouncing off the crossbar to the collective sigh of the crowd. Her grit and determination were felt with each kick and punt, making her a vital part of the seniors’ strategy and giving her team key advantages throughout the game.
Every player on both teams contributed to the excitement, whether making plays on the field or cheering on from the sidelines. From standout runs and catches to high spirits and encouragement, each player brought energy and heart, showing what true teamwork looks like.
By the final whistle, the seniors had won and celebrated proudly, but both teams left the field with heads held high, thrilled by the competition and team spirit. The juniors gave it their all with fast runs, sharp passes, and strong defense, making it a true battle from start to finish.
