Anthony Lucero is a junior of Atascadero High School, and when he’s not doing school work, he spends his time making maps and fleshing out a world that he calls “Burklous”. He’s been working on Burklous for six years now, with his end goal being publishing a book set featuring the world, similar to Lord of the Rings or the Chronicles of Narnia. Map making is his favorite part of the process, as the maps were the first thing he made for his world, as well as being the latest thing he made. Most of his inspiration comes from a variety of things. “I can sort of take any random thing and come up with something similar,” He says, “Like for example if there was a person that wore a specific outfit, I might get inspired to have a character in the world that dresses like that. It’s little things like that which a lot of people overlook, but make the world feel more real.”
