I recently had the chance to see the movie We Live in Time, directed by John Crowley, at Park Cinemas in Paso on Veterans day. While I typically don’t lean toward romance films, this one grabbed my attention and held it throughout the whole movie.
The movie is visually stunning, thanks to its beautiful art direction and amazing cinematography. I was impressed by how well everything was put together. The way the sound design and musical score connected with the visuals added layers to the emotional depth of the movie, creating moments where scenes would linger in my mind long after they had passed. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into every frame, making it a beautiful and cohesive experience.
At the heart of this movie are two phenomenal actors, Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. Their performances were so genuine and natural, and the chemistry between them is electric, adding so much depth to their characters and the story. They play off each other so effortlessly, making their emotions and interactions feel incredibly real. While watching, I could tell that they put their hearts into these roles.
The movie explores deep feelings about love and the passage of time. By the end, I found myself tearing up a bit because it was both sad and beautiful. I really didn’t expect myself to feel so moved by a romance movie, but this one exceeded my expectations.
Overall, I didn’t expect to enjoy We Live in Time as much as I did. It’s a gorgeous film with fantastic performances and a beautiful story. If you’re like me and usually turn away from romance, I suggest you give this one a chance. You might end up liking it just as much as I did.
