Behind the Mic and the Morning Announcements

Welcome to the Advanced Media Arts class. The class is the capstone class in the Digital Communications Pathway for multimedia. One of our main goals in this class is to ensure that everyone in the school sees and hears the morning announcements. To simplify this enormous task, we break it into two main parts: pre-production script writing and designing and production filming, which includes various roles like the teleprompter and the switcher, as well as floor managers. Each part is essential to our success, and by giving everyone a specific role, we can work together smoothly as a team to complete everything we need to do.

While we mainly focus on the morning announcements, they don’t happen daily. So, in our free time, we also upload stories to our school website, Greyhound Media. This website is an excellent place for students and parents to find information about important events, upcoming activities, and fascinating stories from diverse students.
This class is also a space to connect your personal practice with the community—whether through creating a podcast, producing a video segment, making a comic or animation or contributing to live streams and the school website. From organizing the film festival to curating art shows, you’ll find many opportunities to amplify your ideas, art, and work while collaborating as part of a creative team.
Overall, this class is a fantastic option for creative people who want to learn new media skills and make and produce media for the community. The class encourages students to dive into their interests and grow their abilities to connect their ideas to the community.
