Auditions for Atascadero High School’s very own Improv team, Panic Basket, are almost upon us! If you’ve already taken, or are currently in Mrs. Volpa’s Improv class, and are interested in auditioning, or just want an extra excuse to come and play some fun games and meet new people, then go to the BlackBox Theater on August 30th, at 3:00 PM!

Auditioning, and potentially being on the team (as well as Mrs. Volpa’s Improv class) is a great way to step out of your comfort zone, and to try things you might have never thought of doing before! “I’m comfortable here and I enjoy doing this which I haven’t felt in a long time.” Says Alia Luna, the team also emphasizes a strong sense of community “I met some of my favorite people in improv, and it gave me the piece of mind that not only did everyone have my back during improv shows, but they also had my back in life” Says Sabrina Rivera.

If you’re not entirely sold on auditioning, make sure to come to some of the shows when they start running throughout the year! They are a huge blast of fun, and a great way to laugh your way into the weekends. “[The team is] so professional and so talented!” Lucy Peterson says. Another student, Jonathan Mankins says,“They were phenomenal! Went to every show last year, and each show was better than the last!”
