Did you know AHS has Saturday school?
If you’re the kind of student who’s always on time, follows the rules, and is Accountable, Honorable, and Safe, you’ve probably never heard of Saturday School.
But if your attendance slips below 90%, you might find yourself spending your Saturday mornings at AHS with Sid and Darvell—at a desk, in silence, without your phone, working through the consequences.
Have a medical emergency? AHS has got your back. Just get a doctor’s note so the school can clear things up. That way, you won’t write reflection essays on your weekend off. Remember, clearing absences or getting a travel contract in advance can help keep you out of the Saturday school lineup.
So, if you’re not interested in sitting in a quiet room without a phone for three hours (9 AM to 12 PM, to be exact), don’t get a behavior referral either. Show up and participate in class, and be respectful to everyone. Just follow the rules, in class and out, and you can keep your Saturdays for yourself. It’s best to be Accountable, Honorable, and Safe unless you want to spend your weekend doing community campus beautification or reflecting on your behavior.
Sid says: Saturday school is a chance to reteach the behaviors we want to see on campus and get students back on track to being Accountable, Honorable, and Safe.
In other words, come to class, do your work, and respect the space and others, and you won’t need to join the Saturday morning club.
