“New AHS Mural in the Office”
In May 2024, works of a school-representative mural underwent production in the hands of AHS students and, at the time, Sophomore Sabrina Rivera. With the aid of Media Arts teacher Chloe Palmer, Sabrina achieved her idea of bringing a digital drawing in honor of the AHS campus to full display in person.
“I just wanted to save some images on Pinterest to get my mind going; that’s how I usually come up with most of my art. Just look at other similar things and then build off there. Originally, I had thought of doing a graffiti-style mural. And after looking at paintings, like the comic book style, I thought it was cool and more eye-catching instead.” – Sabrina Rivera.
She used the Adobe program Illustrator for most of the process, in addition to Clip Studio Paint, a personal and reliable art program.
“The start of the mural was going slow because of how short the periods of each class were, so it was a tedious process. There were also multiple times that the mural had been restarted because of inconsistencies. The high school colors were not easy to work with because of the lack of color to utilize. It was also pretty tedious to add the selective dots to the mural too.” – Sabrina Rivera.
The mural is located in the office for respectful viewing.
