With winter approaching, our Fall Sports unfortunately come to an end. However, with this close, a new journey begins.
SPORTS
As we wish the best of luck to all Fall Sports entering the battle of CIF, it’s time to look forward to our incoming athletics! Atascadero High offers boys and girls basketball, soccer, and wrestling. Always stay updated on try-outs, practice times and game schedules by looking over Atascadero High Athletics!
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
If you’re looking to participate in any winter sport, or sport at all, be sure to fill out and turn in all registration papers, specifically your orange card! In order to do so, you must be physically eligible to participate, which can only be cleared by a doctor so make arrangements ahead of time. After making the school team, it’s important to remember you’re a Student-Athlete. This requires you to maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above! If you, or any athlete is unable to do this, they will get one probationary period, however if they fail to raise their grade above this requirement in a certain matter of time, they will unfortunately be ineligible to participate until proven able to do so at the next grading period. Along with GPA, it’s crucial to show up to all your classes. This requires the athlete to be in attendance at least 90% of the time. If your attendance happens to be below this necessity, then again, you’re ineligible to participate further on. Note that all unexcused absences and tardies determine the attendance requirement.
HOW CAN I ATTEND THESE EVENTS?
This year, our school has announced that tickets are going digital! Atascadero high is going cashless, requiring any attending member of our athletic home events to download and purchase tickets on the GOFAN app. After buying your ticket, make sure to be prepared when entering the event by having the ticket presentable on a mobile device so the gate personnel can validate your admission. We hope to see everyone, whether it’s participating, supporting one another, or simply enjoying the event together and making memories. Go Hounds!
