The AHS Buzz: The Fall ’25 Trends Report
As we go into a fresh year, The Ahs Campus is coming in hot with new styles. Statement pieces from cute and comfy footwear to bold patterns like camo and cheetah, our campus is buzzing with new slang and styles. This school year, the AHS Greyhound media is hitting the halls to find out what is really trending.
Button ups and tucked tops:
It seems times have changed, students are leaning towards more thoughtful and less “slumpy”’ looks. There’s a new trick where you effortlessly tuck your oversized sweater or baby tee into your undertank and it creates this chic look that students are going crazy for. Some would say it “glows up” your outfit to a trendy look. A fashionable button up seems to be very popular among the guys. Paired with wide leg jeans, a button up is a charming look that everyone loves. These two trends prove that a little effort goes a long way, and the same amount of work with a little bit more thought makes your outfit 10x better.
Favored footwear: UGGS, Birkenstalks, Adidas, and DC’s
When it comes to shoes, comfort is always key. Luckily, these trendy shoes show comfort, warmth, and most importantly style. Adidas shows styles for girls and guys leaving room for personal style while also staying trendy. Adidas also incorporates other trends like cheetah and popular colors allowing students to “Sandwich” their outfits. Sandwiching outfits is highly popular amongst the student body. Sandwiching is when you intentionally match your shoes with your shirt to make a look that boosts your outfit to the next level. As the weather cools down, students try to get cozy and stay warm. Popular shoes like uggs and birkenstalks can be perfect for that. UGGS provide a warm slipper-like feel but a cute look that can be worn with any sweater-weather outfit. Birkenstock are a great staple to have because they can be worn in every season.
Bold statement pieces: Butter Yellow, Cheetah, Bows, and Camo
The year is about mixing and matching bold statement colors and patterns with staple items like jeans and jorts, while layering to make the perfect look. Bows are a good way to spice up your outfit and add a soft touch of femininity. You’ll tend to see bows on things like purses, bags, shoes and in hair. Camo has made a comeback! You might see this stylish print on jackets, cargo pants, hoodies and tops. The trendy color palette has gotten some Additions like butter yellow, and navy. Butter yellow adds a bright but soft and cheerful addition to your outfit. Then Of course, navy is a non-negotiable color to have in your rotation. It is stylish and cute year round, and should be a staple in your closet.
Retro Comebacks: Babydoll Tops and Jorts
Y2K and nineties styles are coming back. Thrifting has become very popular within the students. Jorts are a campus staple, they give off a stylish vintage vibe that everyone seems to love. The comeback of babydoll tops are not only thrifted but have come back into stores like Hollister, and Aeropostale. Most babydoll tops come in patterns like plaid, polkadots, and stripes.
Mid-Day Glowup:
If you have noticed your classmates looking extra nice throughout the day, you are not mistaken. The trend of getting ready in class is not just about looks, it is about multitasking. Students have little time to get ready so they are starting to utilize their few free moments in class to perfect their look.
The AHS Daily Grind:
It is a given that a long school day needs a mid-day pick-me-up. You may be wondering, what are the drinks of the season? Matcha and chai. Whether it’s hot or cold, students are grabbing their yummy drinks during lunchtime. This gives them the boost they need to get through the day.
Hydration but make it trendy:
See ya Stanleys, there’s a new bottle in town. Owala is the newest trendy bottle. Seen all over campus in different sizes and colors, Owala is a staple throughout our school.
The lingo: AHS slang
Having trouble figuring out what people are talking about? We got you. We sent out a poll to the whole campus to get the inside scoop of the real lingo going around. Here’s what we found:
- Aura : Aura is a vibe a person gives off. If you have a “positive aura” it means you have confident and cool energy.
- Bet : Bet means to agree with someone. For example people use terms like “bet that” or “you betcha!”.
- Yuh : the word yuh is similar to bet because it’s also used as a way to agree with someone.
- Crashing Out : crashing out is when someone gets angry or has an outburst. Usually this term is used figuratively as a way of joking and expressing your emotion.
- Locked In : Locked in is used as a way to say you’re completely focused on the task you need to get done and you’re going to work hard on it.
- Real : If a friend tells you something funny or relatable, “Real” is a way to respond and say you agree or relate to what they said.
- 67 : The phrase ” six-seven” has no real meaning to it. It can be used as a comeback or just something funny to say. It’s currently viral on tiktok and is meant to throw people off and just be funny.
- Helly and Hellyante : Instead of ” What The hell!” people have started to replace it with Helly or Hellyante. These phrases came from a viral song on tiktok called “WTHelly”.
- Huzz : This phrase used to be an abbreviation of ” Husband” but it now has a different meaning. Huzz refers to a person that is good looking or that you have a crush on. It can be used in the context of talking with your friends and referring to people as “Huzz”.
- Sendy : Getting sendy means to go all out or be confident and just “Send It”.
Whether you’re rocking trendy clothing styles or keeping up with the latest slang, AHS has proved to be as diverse and up to date as ever with its great outlook on all things trendy. We want to acknowledge the many other styles and trends that we’d love to feature, but unfortunately we couldn’t fit all of them into this issue. We want everyone to stay true to their own style and personality but hopefully this helped put a perspective on the “Buzz” you see all over campus.
